Introducing QuackPot Productions: a fusion of comedy and drama; North meets South. Alice Fforde was born and raised in ‘hilly and hardy' North Yorkshire and Charlie Dryden was born and raised in the ‘not so hilly’, but apparently ‘leafy’, Surrey.

Whilst Alice and Charlie were lucky enough to train at LAMDA, unfortunately, they spent the last term studying in our sitting-rooms during a National Lockdown. Finishing drama school with a grand total of zero contacts between them, writing became a tool to carve a path into the industry and so ‘QuackPot Productions’ was formed as the vehicle to produce and promote their own work.  

After being labelled the ‘funny girl’ for most of Alice's childhood, she rebelled and promised herself to only write serious, dark and brooding dramas - how wrong she was. With all the doom and gloom that surrounded the pandemic, comedy not only felt appropriate but an essential antidote to lockdown life.

Achievements of QuackPot Productions to date:

• ‘Lockdown Love Story’ our first online mini-series, gained recognition from Ricky Gervais, ‘The Wombles’ and ‘Yorkshire Tea’! We also forwarded the series to four fringe festivals (Edinburgh, Melbourne, Rochester and Hollywood). It was nominated for three awards at Hollywood and won two. 

• ‘Meet Cute’ held at the Camden Fringe a comedic play we wrote and performed in, which received 4* reviews and was a sell-out run. Reviews included: “Fresh, quirky and wickedly funny… Meet Cute rarely falters, at heart a smashing show with something new to say…” “The writing is fun, cheeky, and surprising. They are also laugh out loud funny, their ability to please an audience is clear” 

• ‘Seed’ an original play, was long listed for the Arch 468 Hope Prize. 

• Pilot of ‘MAMA’ NSDF 2022 (National Student Drama Festival). 

• ‘London Lift-Off’ Film Festival in association with Pinewood Studios Winner of Audience Choice Award 2023 (IMDB Qualifying) (‘MAMA’)
